Accepting these terms
Using the website, joining the alpha, creating an account, or continuing to use the service after these terms are presented means you agree to these Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, and the Consent Document when it is shown.
If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
This version is a public draft. Before broad public launch, the final legal version will include full company details, registered address, and any additional provisions that are required.
Who may use the service
softbond is intended for adults age 18 and older. You may not create an account or use the service if you do not meet the age requirement.
The service is for people who want to prepare for a relationship conversation, phrase a sensitive message, run a Repair Session, or keep a Living Agreement created together. It is not for surveillance, control, or use on behalf of another person.
Each user is responsible for protecting their sign-in details. You may not use someone else's account, create an account for a partner without their knowledge, or try to access content that is not yours.
What the service provides
softbond helps users rephrase messages, think out loud in a private conversation, prepare for a conversation, rehearse a possible response, invite a partner, run a Repair Session, and keep agreements created together.
Some capabilities are powered by softbond AI. This means the service can suggest wording, questions, summaries, or conversation structure, but the decision whether to use the content remains with the user.
During alpha, some capabilities may be experimental, change quickly, appear only for some users, or pause for improvement.
What the service does not provide
softbond is not couples therapy, psychological counseling, mental-health support, emergency support, or a replacement for a lawyer, physician, psychologist, social worker, or therapist.
The service does not promise that your partner will understand, agree, forgive, change, or respond in a particular way. It does not score the relationship, diagnose either person, or decide who is right.
If there is immediate danger, violence, threat, severe distress, or a need for professional help, contact a trusted person, emergency services, or an appropriate professional. Do not rely on softbond in those situations.
User responsibility
You are responsible for the text you enter, the decision to use a suggestion, and the content you choose to send. softbond can help slow down and phrase, but it does not replace human judgment.
Before sending a message, read it and make sure it reflects what you want to say. Wording that feels clear inside the app may still land differently with another person.
If you use generated content outside softbond, such as in WhatsApp, SMS, email, or an in-person conversation, you are responsible for that use in that channel.
Approval before sharing
A draft is not sent automatically. A message, wording, or agreement reaches your partner only after an explicit action by the user, such as sending, copying, or approving it inside a Repair Session.
The service is designed not to expose drafts, rejected wording, or a private conversation to your partner unless approved for sharing. However, if a user copies content outside the service and sends it themselves, they are responsible for that sharing.
When two users are in a shared space, each side should understand that approved messages and agreements created together may be kept as part of the shared conversation history.
Prohibited uses
You may not use the service to threaten, coerce, stalk, monitor, harm, extort, harass, shame, impersonate, or encourage harm toward yourself or anyone else.
You may not use the service to bypass safety filters, test how to phrase a threat indirectly, apply sexual or financial pressure, locate someone against their will, or obtain information you are not entitled to receive.
You may not disrupt the service, scrape data, reverse engineer, use unauthorized automation, test vulnerabilities without coordination, or use the service in a way that violates another person's rights.
Content and rights
The content you write remains yours. You give softbond a limited license to use the content to provide the service, process requests you make, store information under your settings, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
The brand, design, code, interface, name, logo, product screens, marketing copy, and softbond assets belong to softbond or its licensors. Using the service does not transfer rights in those assets to you.
You may not copy, sell, distribute, commercialize, or present the product in a way that misleads others into thinking you represent softbond or operate the service.
OpenAI processing and external providers
Some capabilities use OpenAI API processing and other infrastructure providers. Use of those capabilities is subject to the Privacy Policy, the Consent Document, and any provider terms that apply to behind-the-scenes service processing.
Generated responses may be imperfect, inaccurate, mismatched to your tone, or inappropriate for a specific situation. Read them before use and do not rely on them as factual truth or professional advice.
If a capability is unavailable because of a bug, provider limitation, safety limitation, or product change, it may not be usable until fixed or changed.
Alpha, availability, and changes
The alpha is for early users and product improvement. Bugs, outages, interface changes, wording changes, feature closures, or deletion of test data may occur where needed and according to policy.
We will try to give notice of significant changes, but during alpha we cannot promise uninterrupted availability or that every feature will remain as it appeared on the day you joined.
Feedback from early users matters to us, but sending feedback does not create an obligation to build a feature, pay compensation, or keep an idea for exclusive use.
Payment, subscriptions, and cancellation
During alpha, joining is free and without commitment unless clearly stated otherwise before a specific action.
If subscriptions or in-app payment are offered in the future, the price, period, billing method, cancellation terms, and any relevant taxes will be shown before charge. Cancellation will happen through the app store or relevant payment mechanism.
A free capability may change, become limited, or become part of a paid plan in the future, but such a change will be shown before billing.
Suspension or account closure
We may limit, suspend, or close an account if we suspect a terms violation, harmful use, safety risk, unauthorized access attempt, legal violation, or action that may harm the service or other users.
Where possible and appropriate, we will try to explain the general reason for the restriction. In some cases, we will not provide full details in order to protect safety, privacy, or security mechanisms.
Account closure does not cancel obligations created before closure and does not prevent limited retention of information where needed for law, security, or dispute handling.
Responsibility, reliance, and liability limits
The service is provided as is and as available. We try to build a reliable and careful product, but we do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, suitable for every case, or accurate in every wording suggestion.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, softbond will not be responsible for indirect, consequential, special, or incidental damage arising from use of the service, unavailability, generated content, or a user's decision to send a message.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects consumer or privacy rights that cannot be waived.
Changes to terms and contact
We may update these Terms of Use when the product, law, providers, or service model changes. The last-updated date appears at the top of the page.
If a material change affects user rights or obligations, we will show notice on the website or inside the product before continued use, where required or appropriate.
